"Strength in weakness" with Joe Wankelman

God "shows off" with powerful miracles in the lives and stories of his people.  And that is what the Amazing Greats podcast does;  shares those stories.

Joe Wankelman's story is an inspiring showcase of God's goodness.  From a childhood of drama with his mother pretty much disappearing and his dad self focused, he was mostly raised by a caring grandmother.  Joe didn't read until he was in 7th grade...graduated with a 1.9 GPA and was called "stupid" by many throughout his years growing up and even labeled himself with that.

This story is a modern day showcase of what the Bible says:  In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul quotes Jesus who said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Wankelman's early challenges were God's opportunity to demonstrate his miracle power. Joe became one of the few highly skilled pilots of one of the worlds most sophisticated aircraft, the Apache helicopter, and flew multiple heroic missions in combat during the "war on terror" after 9/11,  hitting precision targets and saving many American soldier's  lives on the ground.   As he describes it, he and the Apache became a unique team of man and machine.  He is truly an American hero.   Make sure to listen to this podcast all the way to the end, because the story just gets better and better.

You've heard me mention the name of my mentor, George Toles, many times in several episodes of AMAZING GREATS, and today you'll get an even greater glimpse of George's impact in 2018 as part of Joe Wankelman's story.
